This is what we saw on our first viewing of La Graviere… this wasn’t the only or first property we viewed, but it was the first one that was what we wanted and thought we were capable of doing.
We’d already had a good look around France… The Jura, Alps (North and South) and the Ardèche etc. But as Silvana’s family live in Bourgogne and there’s a shed load of wine… it seemed like the prefect spot.
The UK pound was riding high against the euro, so the price wasn’t too bad either!

After having a look around a few more properties we decided to take the plunge and make an offer…. which was refused!
In was already owned by an Englishman!
As it turned out the guy and his wife didn’t really want to sell the place and as a result wouldn’t be moved on the asking price…
